Automotive: New Construction or Dealership Remodels
Our team has worked hand in hand with the facility and dealer development groups of several luxury automotive manufacturers. We are experts in the fixtures and lamps that will work well for your particular facility and will be consistent with your brand image, while enabling you to take advantage of energy efficiency tax deductions, rebates and incentives. Utilizing energy efficient light fixtures that reduce utility costs and save energy are a perfect fit for the luxury automaker’s ‘green’ initiatives.
Benefit from several expense reducing energy efficiency programs:
EPAct of 2005
You may be eligible to receive a significant federal tax deduction through The Energy Policy Act of 2005. EPAct 2005 provides for a significant tax deduction to those who meet the energy efficiency guidelines for lighting, HVAC systems and building envelope. The savings can be as high as $1.80 per square foot. EDSS has the knowledge and expertise to help you meet the ASHRAE standards required for the deduction. In addition, we will work with your accounting team on the paperwork involved in filing with the IRS.
Tax Rebates and Utility Incentives
In some states, rebates of up to fifty percent (50%) of the cost of the fixtures are available for energy efficient lighting. Additionally, your local utility may have a program in place to reward energy efficiency with incentives, rebates or a one time credit for utilizing energy efficient fixtures and reducing your energy consumption. EDSS will research opportunities for eligibility and file the necessary paperwork for you to take advantage of these programs.
Utility Rate Reductions – Energy Procurement Program
EDSS has lowered utility rates for many clients. Many states throughout the country offer a deregulated electricity supply -- this can mean substantial electricity cost savings for facilities that study the opportunities and negotiate rates with potential providers. EDSS staff members have expertise in energy deregulation and rate negotiation, and will help you with procuring the most cost effective electricity provider. We’ll prepare and manage the required paperwork and processing.
Utility Invoice Audit
EDSS offers a thorough review of your utility costs to evaluate potential savings. Even though these expenses are perceived as ‘fixed,’ a number of actions can be taken to reduce these costs as well as identify recurring errors and overcharges. After an EDSS rate analysis of several accounts for a California auto dealership, the dealership was able to save over $30,000 by addressing inaccuracies in their electricity provider’s billing. We will perform rate analyses and review of your invoices and work with your providers to correct any discrepancies. You may be surprised to know how often inaccuracies are found. |
